Tara joined PD Law as a legal intern while completing her Bachelor of Laws at the University of Southern Queensland. She brings a unique blend of technical expertise and legal insight, having previously worked as an Electrical/ICT Patent Examiner at the Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand (IPONZ).
With over three years in intellectual property law and more than 15 years in the electrical and refrigeration industries, Tara offers a practical, analytical approach to legal problem-solving. Her experience includes evaluating patent applications, interpreting legislation and case law, and mentoring junior examiners.
Tara is passionate about learning and thrives in fast-paced environments. She’s known for her strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities—skills she’s honed while balancing full-time work, study, and motherhood.
